Our Story

The Eastend Storm is a brand new organization formed from the merger of two long-standing and respected associations: the Gloucester-Centre Minor Hockey Association (GCMHA) and the Orleans Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). This exciting new chapter in Ottawa minor hockey officially begins for the 2025/2026 season.

Both the GCMHA and OMHA have rich histories and have been dedicated to providing quality hockey experiences for countless players, coaches, and volunteers. The decision to merge was driven by a shared vision to enhance the hockey experience for all participants and to build a stronger, more unified hockey community in the Eastend. The goal was to honour the legacies of both associations while creating a dynamic and supportive environment for the development of young athletes.

We are thrilled to welcome all former Cougar and Rush families to the Eastend Storm!

Hierarchy

The Eastend Minor Hockey Association (EMHA) operates within a structured governance framework, ensuring consistent standards and practices from the national level down to our local organization. We are proudly sanctioned by Hockey Canada, the sport's national governing body, and fall under the umbrella of Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) at the provincial level. Locally, EMHA operates as a component of the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA), โ€” also known as District 9 โ€” diligently adhering to the rules, policies, and guidelines established by each of these governing bodies.
