Eastend Storm U15 Michel Breau Community Cup

Michel Breau, a beloved community builder and dedicated minor hockey volunteer, passed away in late 2024. A proud Acadian and longtime resident of Ottawa, Michel's impact on the local hockey scene was immeasurable. For over a decade, he was a dedicated volunteer with the Gloucester Centre Minor Hockey Association (GCMHA), serving on the board for 10 years and as president for four.

Michel was a true champion for the sport, tirelessly working to make hockey accessible and inclusive for all youth. He was instrumental in developing new programs, including a 4-on-4 program and a hockey outreach initiative for children of Syrian refugees. His passion for the game and his commitment to helping young players develop their skills and love for hockey left a lasting mark on the community. He was known for his big heart, his infectious laugh, and his willingness to help others, embodying the best of what it means to be a community leader.

In honor of his legacy and profound impact, the East End Minor Hockey Association (EMHA) is proud to announce the inaugural U15 EMHA Michel Breau Community Cup. This tournament will be a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated so much of his life to minor hockey.

The tournament will take place from January 8 to January 12, 2026, at the Richcraft Sensplex. It promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship, community, and passion for the game that Michel so deeply cherished. We invite all teams and families to join us in honoring Michel's memory and celebrating the values he held so dear.

Levels: House League U15A and U15B *NOTE: If your team plays in a tiered league and your team is at the highest level of your association, you must register for the A division, if it's the second level, you must register for the B division.
