Outreach

Eastend Minor Hockey Association believes that every player should have the opportunity to participate in hockey in a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment.

The goal of EMHA Outreach is to help support Eastend Storm families who may need assistance with hockey equipment or other hockey-related needs. Whether a player is new to the game, growing quickly, or a family is facing a temporary challenge, our Outreach efforts are here to help reduce barriers to participation wherever possible.

Equipment Support

Hockey equipment can be expensive, especially for growing players. EMHA Outreach helps connect families with gently used equipment when available and works to support players who may need help getting properly equipped for the season.

EMHA Outreach may also be able to connect families with community equipment support resources when our equipment locker does not have the items needed. One such resource is Next Shift Canada, a community-driven hockey equipment initiative that works to help kids access the gear they need to get on the ice.

Families looking for equipment support are encouraged to contact EMHA Outreach first so we can review what is available locally and help direct requests where appropriate.

Annual Gear Swap

EMHA Outreach hosts an annual Gear Swap on the last Wednesday of August.

This event gives families an opportunity to donate, exchange, or pick up gently used hockey equipment before the start of the season. It is a great way to help equipment find a new home while supporting other players in our hockey community.

More details about the Gear Swap, including time, location, and donation instructions, will be shared closer to the event, watch our home page and socials!

Donations

Families with clean, gently used hockey equipment are encouraged to consider donating items that are still in good condition. Donated equipment helps support other Eastend Storm players and keeps usable gear in circulation within our community.

Need Support?

If your family needs assistance with equipment or another hockey-related need, please contact EMHA Outreach. We will do our best to help or connect you with available community resources.

All requests will be treated with care and confidentiality.
